The Kaloko dam breach washed out the Wailapa...</title><content type='html'>Ahem. The Kaloko dam breach washed out the Wailapa stream, a tributary of the Kilauea river. Problem is, it joins the Kilauea river almost 2 miles downstream of the waterfall pictured. So the scene you described didn't happen here. Also, I'm sure there was debris in the ocean, but not entire homes. Which makes the first comment unintentionally ironic.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Also, as the writer of a blog about Kauai myself, I suggest you not name places that do not have public access. This area is amazing.  Mahaluepu on the south shore is my favorite spot when I have a day off to explore.
